What is Ripping?

Ripping, in conventional contexts, is the act of taking files off of a CD or similar disc and moving them to a computer. In SiIvaGunner, however, ripping takes on a different meaning. basically, rips are remixes of video game music titled in such a way that they appear as the original, unedited track.

Typically, remixes are formatted in a way where they show their sources before you click on them, for example, Snow Halation but Shawty's Like a Melody in My Head gives you a good understanding of what you're going to get prior to clicking the mashup.

The main difference between something like Shawty Halation and a SIIvaGunner rip is the fact that SiIvaGunner rips are typically titled a little more like this.

[Song Name] (Mix Name) - [Game Name]

There are exceptions, SiIvaGunner's Super Mario All-Stars playlist has something more like Super Mario All Stars Music SMB[Number] [Song Name] (Mix Name), and occasionally rips use the format [Game Name] Music - [Song Name], a holdover from the Original Original SILvaGunner channel. Technically rips can use whatever title or format the uploader wants, as long as it tries to trick the viewer into thinking they're watching the original unedited audio.
