Events

SiIvaGunner is notable for having many themed events. Often spanning over the course of a day, these events are a good way of keeping the channel fresh and engaging, while allowing for SiIva contributors to test their creative muscle with various themed rips.
Events can be incredibly simple, such as rips featuring music from a certain game series (one of the first events ever was a Metal Gear event), or more high-concept, featuring more complex themes, such as Rips of previous rips, rips of media within media, or rips of alternate universe versions of games The first ever SiIvaGunner event was April Fools' Day, 2016. for this event, SiIvaGunner and the orignal GiLvaSunner channel would swap, with SiIva uploading unedited tracks, and GiLva uploading a rip of Final Destination from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It wouldn't be until GiLvaSunner's deletion that SiIva would reupload the Brawl rip.

SiIvaGunner's second event, not counting the termination of the original GiIvaSunner channel, would be 4/20 2016. This was about what one might expect, a series of rips featuring weed. You obviously had Snoop Dogg, but also a good few other weed sources. Rips during this event were kinda mediocre at best, but ultimately most people making rips were very new to the game, so I can't exactly blame them.

I think one of the best events to demostrate SiIvaGunner's variety is (don't laugh) Logan Paul's Birthday. Because on the surface you wouldn't think that Logan Paul would have any music, much less listenable stuff, but a suprising number of these rips turned out very well. I think one of my favorites from Logan Paul's birthday event has to be the rip of Shop (Vinyl Mix) - Undertale, a mashup of 2020 by Logan Paul with additional melodyswaps and additional instruments from 100 Sunny from Omori, along with Main Theme from the Wii Shop Channel

Shop (Vinyl Mix) is a really good rip that manages to combine a lot of different elements in a way that really does not fit Logan Paul, a man known pretty much exclisively for somehow managing to hold a career after showing a dead body on camera and more generally being a terrible person. An event that I like that doesn't celebrate someone like that is Gabe Newell's takeover in 2021.

Gabe Newell's takeover was a lot of things. A celebration of the games that Valve made, such as Portal and Half-Life. A bunch of jokes related to the community surrounding the titles, with things like Garry's Mod and Black Mesa, a remake of Half-Life 1 made by fans of the original game, and an excuse to make fun of Valve for somehow not releasing a third entry in any of their series since their inception. Being a fan of Valve's games, or atleast the ones I've played, this was a really fun event. It contained rips of Portal 2, which if you've seen my non-SiIva pages you know is one of my favorites, along with a bunch of other 9/10 games. While many of these rips were simple melodyswaps to Still Alive or Want You Gone, the event had a good few rips that really caught me off guard. One of my favorites is Fear Factory (Beta Mix) which manages to combine Donkey Kong Country, Half Life's Credits Theme, and several other sources. Have a listen:

One of the high-concept events I enjoyed was April Fools 2024, an event where the rips uploaded on that day had their metadata altered such that it would explain the joke. But then, to keep in with the bait-and-switch nature of SiIvaGunner, an additional joke (or multiple) would be added. For instance, the rip Slider (Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack) - Super Mario 64, an arrangment of Slider to WECOME TO THE CITY from Deltarune was featured and retitled to WELCOME TO THE CITY but it's in the Super Mario 64 soundfont, though the inclusion of both Yankin' and Sicko Mode were not added to the title, and instead kept as additional bait-and-switches. Several of these rips referenced previous SiIvaGunner uploads, and more documentation is avalible, per usual, on the SiIvaGunner Wiki.

I am of the belief that events help keep the channel fresh, and while there have been periods where the channel would just not stop doing them, I think that some of the best rips have come from siiva team being forced to explore different types of theming. Limitations breed creativity, and being forced to work within the constraints of a theme has proved to create some incredible rips.
