SiIvaGunner (spelled with an uppercase "I" instead of a lowercase "L",
commonly pronounced "See-va"), is a musical remix collective that makes remixes
of video game music with decpetive titles. These remixes often involve mashing up
multiple tracks, changing the melody of one track to another (melodyswapping), and
fully arranging a track in the style of another.
Athletic Theme (PAL Versoon) is an example of a rip
that uses several elements in order, starting as a simple melodyswap, before
expanding into a mashup as well.
SiIvaGunner, as a collective, has been around since January 2016, and continues
to produce rips even to this day. Founded by Chaze the Chat, SiIvaGunner started out
after the group found terrible Flintstones remixes made to reference Joel Vinesauce's
reaction to 7 GRAND DAD, and decided to parody them with the caveat of being actually good.
Since then, SIIvaGunner has expanded their joke repertoire significantly, including hundreds of
different pieces of media. Along with classics like Meet the Flintstones and Snow Halation,
many other songs and works have been featured.
SiIvaGunner rips tend to use video game or video game related music (eg. music from the Super Mario Bros. Movie) above all else, especially from Nintendo and indie titles.
Occasionally non-VGM tracks are ripped, but these are typically under Rock Band or other
video game metadata. In addition, rips of songs that have not been featured in
video games in general are ripped under the track "Circus" from Five Nights at Freddy's, and this playlist
has accumulated several hundred rips.
SiIvaGunner is notable for hosting various channel events,
days where all rips are themed to a certain group or idea. Take for instance the Beatles event, where all rips
uploaded featured songs from the Beatles or members of the Beatles' solo work. SiIvaGunner events can often get very
high-concept, such as the annual April fools events.
One of the more notable events is the King for a Day Tournament, and it's sequel, the King for Another day tournament.
These events were competitions between different potential events in a tournament bracket made to decide who would be king,
Despite viewer requests, SiIvaGunner team has stated there will never be a third King for a Day tournament due to the stress of creating KFAD2. Fan made tournaments in a
similar vein happen frequently, however.
In addition to events, SiIvaGunner also has several story arcs, the main one being the SiIvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis.
Set in a world where the Voice Inside Your Head has taken over the Netherlands and significant chunks of other continents, Smol
Nozomi, Meta Knight, and Santa must work togehter to kill the Voice. This takes place after the reboot, which is it's own can of worms.
SiIvaGunner is one of my favorite channels on YouTube and projects on the wider internet, and ultimately creating this site means I have
the ability to share that passion with the wider world.
