Season 1

The first ever SiIvaGunner rip.

Season 1 is notable for a few things, being the start of SiIvaGunner, and being kinda mid. Lasting from January 9th to September 30th of 2016, SiIVaGunner's first season is really quaint in comparason to what would come later. Many of the rips this season are rough, often being offkey, offbeat, or just poorly executed compared to later rips. This was also the start of SiIvaGunner's lore, with the reboot arc.
Of course, SiIvaGunner's early years weren't all sunshine and rainbows, early SiIva had it's fair share of controversies, notably the first rip of Puzzle Room using shock images, Green De La Bean, an early joke which would move fast and play sounds loudly, and 9/11 2016, a tasteless event about the September 11th terrorist attacks.


Lets start with the good: SiIvaGunner is created. Major memes such as 7 GRAND DAD and Snow Halation become mainstays of the channel, Undertale becomes a core part of the channel identity, and for the most part, the building blocks are in place for what would come later.

Reboot Arc

The Reboot arc was the first major story arc on the SiIvaGunner channel. It follows Chad Warden, an internet troll's persona who defended the PlayStation 3 from Nintendo and Microsoft fanboys with often nonsensical arguements, fighting against The Voice Inside Your Head, a character made to appease the audience and their hatred for idol anime song Snow Halation as much as possible. The Voice "reboots" SiIvaGunner, changing the major jokes of the channel from Meet the Flinstones and Snow Halation to The Simpsons/Family Guy and Go My Way. Chad Warden takes notice of the changes in SiIva's output, and confronts the Voice. The Voice attempts to create a deal with Chad Warden to restore SiIvaGunner with both the pre-and-post reboot memes, sans Snow Halation, Which Chad either has none of, giving an impassioned speech about the melody of the heart before dying to save Snow Halation. The voice would go on to become the main antagonist of the series (More about that in Season 2).

Controversies

SiIvaGunner did some stuff that makes it difficult to recommend to people without a massive disclaimer. The fact of the matter is that many of the people who were active in Season 1-3 era SiIvaGunner were active on websites like 4Chan, with one of the most active people, Le Ruse Bird, even composing for Pokemon Clover, a ROM hack extensively tied to the culture of 4Chan. While LRB was responsible for two of the most controversial things on early SiIva, the creation of Green De La Bean and the original Puzzle Room rip, Chaze approved a 9/11 event, and generally this sort of ultra-edginess was par for the course on early SiIvaGunner. luckily, few people from the earliest of days on SiIva are still on the team, and those who are have cooled off significantly. Most of the SiIva team is pretty woke nowadays.

Personal Thoughts

I was not around during the days of Season 1, I wouldn't become a fan of SiIva until 2018 I beleive, and because of this I have few emotions tied up in the earliest rips. I acknoledge them more as a stepping stone on the way to what we have now than a standalone product, and while I have some reverence for what SiIvaGunner was, most of the rips fall flat for me due to their lacking execution. The best rips of Season 1 are still really good though, I still love Title Theme & Ending - 7 GRAND DAD, even all these years later, and ultimately it wouldn't be long before SiIvaGunner got to making good rips.
