Season 7 was a celebration of everything that came before. 7 grand years of SiIva, and by god they were going to reference that fact as much as possible.
Season 7's most notable events all directly referenced previous rips, with April Fools 2023 and the SGFR Rip^2 album being a highlight. Not to mention the fact that CCC 11, after 6 long years of waiting, dropped this year.
First, April Fools' 2023 has a very simple gimmick, rips of pre-existing uploads to the channel. As someone who had been following since 2018, this was an incredible event, and I learned about videos and rips that I otherwise never would've discovered aside from ambiently browsing the Wiki. The KFAD2 rips from this event were incredible, the whole event was. The right mix of insane callbacks and genuinely good rips and music, including remixes of older kirbtunes and SGFR tracks. practically anything noteworthy from SiIva's run up to that point was referenced, removed rips, old titles, it was clearly done by people who had a deep understanding of the history of their channel, and I loved it.
Similarly, SGFR came back with Rip^2, a series of arrangments celebrating 7 years of SiIvaGunner by taking pre-existing rips and arranging them in new and exciting was. It was incredible seeing these pre-existing rips I had grown to love, rearranged in new styles. You had such a variety of music made for this event, and dividing it up by era with different album art based on the longstanding kirbtune series was really special. It was a celebration of everything which SiIva had made up to that point, from the simple blueball rip or offkey flintstones to grand megamashups and original compositions. I can recommend jazzless, Wii Shop Swing, and Monochrome: Medley 215 as nice chill songs, but there were so many incredible arrangments in these 95 tracks, and I advise anyone interested to check it out.
To cap off what was already an incredible season celebrating the past, was the return of the SiIvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis. After years, the 11th mainline episode of the CCC released, and boy was it a glow up. The CCC had long gone from being a simple slideshow to these often fully voice acted and dramatic stories, (that or reader and jerome shitposts), and ultimately to see the CCC finally return was insane. The rips of Kirby Planet Robobot were good too.
Season 7 was an incredible season of SiIvaGunner, and one with a very consistant theme throughout. This was a celebration of everything which had come before. We had made it to seven grand years of the channel. But looking forward, what would Season 8 bring?
